Olympic Distance Relay Racer Confirmation

  1. All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable to other athletes.

If an athlete/team is unable to attend an event he/she can complete an event deferment form 3 weeks prior to the event.  Once an athlete has completed the deferment form, they will automatically be removed from the 2008 database and cannot be added back into the database for any reason.

The deferment form will guarantee the athletes registration in the 2009 event ONLY if they register during the Deferral Entry Week in 2009. All deferred athletes will receive an email prior to registration opening in 2009 with specific instructions on how to register.

Deferred athletes must pay the 2009 early registration entry fee. You WILL NOT receive a refund nor will your 2008 entry fee be transferred. There is no deferral fee.

    Addendum:

For those registered athletes who might be interested racing on Saturday instead of Sunday, we would like to make you aware of a special one-time exception to our no-transfer policy.

There will be a 5 day transfer\grace period beginning on Monday, May 26th at 10:00 AM and ending on Friday, May 30th at 5:00 PM. No exceptions will be made after 5:00 PM Friday May 30th, for any reason. Please be aware the Saturday race will be a slightly different event – our focus will be on the course and the professional and age group athletes. Celebrities, Entertainment and Corporate Challenges, and our Donor Brunch will be featured on Sunday only.

To transfer, simply complete the event transfer form on the website and fax it to the MESP office at 818-707-8868, athletes will need to pay the difference between their registration fee paid and the new fee, plus a $5.00 service charge.

For example, if you paid $125.00 registration fee for the Sunday race, you will be charged an additional fee of $25.00 plus the $5.00 service charge for a total of $30.00. All USAT fees paid will transfer over.

  2. NSF Checks:
In the case of a bounced check, MESP will charge a $25.00 fee for all bounced checks. In addition, checks that are returned prior to the event must be redeemed with cash plus the processing fee. Patrons who do not cover NSF checks or who stop payment on checks will not be allowed to race future events.

  3. Late Fees:
Late fees are determined by the postmark date on the envelope. Late fees must be collected before the entry form can be processed.

  4. Event Sellouts:
In the event of a sell-out, all entries received after the closing date will be automatically returned within 5 business days. Waiting lists will not be established for any events.

  5. Race Policies
    A) USAT rules are enforced. If present, USA Triathlon officials will handle protests, and their rulings are final.

    B) Number Plates and Race Numbers: Numbers MUST be visible at all times in order for riders to be scored!

    C) Registration forms: All registration forms must be complete and legible, be sure to notify MESP if you move or change classes during the season.

  6. Athlete Conduct
All athletes are expected to conduct themselves in a sportsman-like way. MESP reserves the right to refuse future race entry and to disqualify anyone who conducts himself or herself in a way unbecoming of an athlete. Fighting, foul language, cheating and other un-sportsmanlike practices will not be tolerated.

  7. Timing
    A) The timing director and the USA Triathlon official will resolve all timing problems. If an official is not present, the timing director will have the final decision on all protests and will consult with the Race Director if necessary.

    B) For all triathlon events timing problems must be presented within the 15-minute protest period posted. Problems presented after the protest period will not be addressed.

    C) Website results will be posted on race day afternoon. Please email all questions on results to mesp@mesp.com, all disputes will be sent to the timing director and addressed in a timely manner. Changes will be made up to two weeks following the event after which time all results will be considered final and reported to USAT.

    D) Wave Starts: Athletes starting in the wrong wave will be disqualified.
